🏠 Questions about the Accommodations

In the documents you receive from us about 4 weeks before arrival, you will find the phone number of the property manager. We request that you call or text the manager when you are on your way from Hato airport to the accommodation, so they can be there on time to welcome you, explain the property, and hand over the keys. The manager is your point of contact during your stay for any questions and/or issues.
The average electricity consumption in Curaçao is about 7 kWh per person per 24 hours, with air conditioning use of about 8 hours per night. You can easily track your consumption on the meter located on the side of the road, which is visible to everyone.
For average water consumption, we estimate about 1m³ per person per week. Of course, this depends on how water is used (long showers, a lot of laundry, etc.). This meter is also visible on the side of the road.
Yes, every accommodation has a crib and high chair available. Please indicate at the time of booking that you wish to use them, so they can be clean and ready for you. More beds or chairs can be arranged in consultation.
If you have questions about the amenities of the accommodation, feel free to ask. You can email, text, or call us. If we don't know the answer, we will ask the owner.

Curaçao is a beautiful island with many beautiful beaches, colonial country houses, and special nature. If you visit Curaçao, it is definitely recommended to see the various highlights. You also need a car for grocery shopping. At Jan Thiel Beach, there is a small supermarket for initial groceries, but this store has a limited selection and is more expensive than the large supermarkets. These are not within walking distance of any accommodation. We therefore strongly advise you to include the cost of a rental car in your budget. Ask us about our offers.
We are happy to arrange a taxi service for you. The driver will be waiting for you at the exit of Hato Arrivals with a sign with your name on it and will take you directly to your accommodation. The cost for this service is €17.50 per person per trip. You pay the driver directly.
If you wish, the manager is happy to do some grocery shopping for you. You will receive a grocery list from us about 4 weeks before your departure to Curaçao, which you can fill out. The managers charge 25% of the total grocery bill as a fee for this service.

🌴 Questions about the Island of Curaçao

Yes, you can pay everywhere with your Dutch debit card. Please ensure that it is enabled for use in Central America. Also, every large supermarket has an ATM where you can withdraw cash. You will find ATMs everywhere along the road. Our advice is not to withdraw small amounts, as your bank charges a fee per transaction.
Yes, no problem, but be careful: turn off your roaming and connect your phone to the accommodation's Wi-Fi, otherwise you could be surprised by huge costs upon your return.
In Curaçao, it is 6 hours earlier during the summer months and 5 hours earlier during the winter months than in the Netherlands.
Yes, the water in Curaçao is exceptionally clean. It is produced from seawater and is absolutely safe to drink.
Yes, because the tap water is clean, you do not have to worry about issues like those common in Asia, for example. However, be careful with raw meat like Carpaccio or raw fish. If it has been out of the refrigerator for too long, you can get sick from it.
Mosquitoes are mainly present at sunrise and sunset. They are sometimes very small but bite quite a bit, and some people are more affected by this. We advise you to buy a can of DEET with your first groceries. The best brands are DEEP WOODS and OFF. Note: DEET is not good for small children. There are special products for them, also from these brands. If you have an extra reaction to the mosquito bites, you can consider taking an antihistamine, a hay fever remedy. This helps against the allergic reaction.
The period from June to October are the warmest months, and November to March are the coolest.
It is busy on the island during all Dutch school holidays.
Yes, we dare to say that the island is safe. The same precautions you would take in a large city in the Netherlands should also be taken in Curaçao, such as not leaving laptops and cameras on the back seat of the car, or leaving a bag unattended... that is never wise, anywhere.
No, Curaçao is part of the Leeward Islands and is outside the hurricane belt.
You pay for parking the car. Otherwise, you can enter the beach for free, but as soon as you use a beach chair, someone will come to charge you. Check the internet for the various costs for the many beautiful beaches.
